Full-Time Gift Shop Employee

Austin Zoo is hiring a new full-time employee for the Zoo Gift Shop/Office, to work 5 days a week, including both Saturday and Sunday. Tasks include, but are not limited to: greeting visitors, explaining our mission to new visitors, working the cash register, answering phones, scheduling field trips and birthday parties, bagging and selling petting corral food, stocking Gift Shop merchandise and beverage coolers, keeping the Gift Shop clean and merchandise organized, feeding and caring for Gift Shop cats, cleaning and restocking the public restrooms before the Zoo opens, and closing the register at the end of the day.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has basic computer/word processing (word & excel) experience
  • has at least 2 years retail experience
  • at least 2 years college (Bachelor’s Degree is preferred)
  • is able to lift 50 lbs
  • has cash handling experience
