While Wolf Hybrid Eli is an outgoing guy, Wolf Hybrid Layla is a shy girl. Our Zookeepers designed a new hide area for Layla. When our Maintenance Manager completed the construction, Layla and Eli came to check it out. It looks like they approve!
Capuchin Mulder thinks the bamboo her Keepers brought her for enrichment is very tasty. At 11:30 every day, guests are invited to watch the residents of our Primate Palace work on their daily training and enrichment activities.
It’s only two weeks until our annual Easter egg hunt on April 4, 2015 at 8:30am on the Zoo grounds. Advance reservations must be made by 5pm on April 2, 2015 to participate. $3 per child for nonmembers. Members hunt for free. Call 512-288-1490 for more details and to reserve your spot!
Lioness Amara celebrated her 12th birthday today with lots of surprises and treats from our Zookeepers. She especially liked her scent box and the venison hanging in the tree. When the rain lets up this weekend, come for a visit and wish her “Happy Birthday”.
Alligator Rene loves his big pool and basking areas. Rene’s habitat is across the trail from the Discovery Center. You can watch Rene eat lunch on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2:30pm.
Every day at 12:30pm we invite our guests to join one of our Reptile Zookeepers as they feed our three Galapagos Tortoises and share information about these amazing reptiles. Gertie, Muffett and Wheezy are about 25 years old. Galapagos Tortoises can live over 150 years!
They are sisters who will celebrate their 2nd birthday next month. You will find them in the Lower Zoo across the trail from our Serval/Bobcat Habitat.
